Weekly Pay: $20.20 - $25.25 DOE
Express Employment Professionals is hiring a detail-oriented Failure Analysis Technician for an immediate full-time opportunity with a leading semiconductor manufacturing facility in Farmers Branch, TX.
This position supports Failure Analysis Engineers by performing non-destructive inspections, sample preparation, and physical analysis on semiconductor components. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a technical background who enjoy working in a laboratory environment, utilizing advanced analytical equipment, and contributing to engineering investigations.
Duties:
- Support Failure Analysis Engineers with laboratory testing and analysis
- Perform non-destructive inspections using Optical/IR Microscopes, X-Ray (2D/3D), and Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM)
- Prepare semiconductor samples for failure analysis using specialized equipment and techniques
- Perform IC package reconditioning, reballing, decapsulation, and package preparation
- Assist with physical analysis using mechanical polishers, Ion-Miller equipment, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Focused Ion Beam (FIB/Plasma FIB) technology
- Analyze test results and assist in preparing technical reports
- Maintain laboratory equipment and assist with tool administration
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines
- Work closely with engineering teams to support ongoing investigations
- Perform additional technical duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate Degree or Technical Certification in an Engineering Technician discipline preferred
- 1–2 years of experience in a technician or laboratory environment
- IC Failure Analysis or semiconductor industry experience is a plus
- Experience with solder rework and re-balling CSPs/BGAs is highly preferred, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Comfortable working in a laboratory environment, including performing work within a chemical lab
- English business proficiency
- Reliable transportation
- Must be eligible to work full-time and be able to start immediately
TRAINING & WORK SCHEDULE
- Training Period: Approximately 90 days
- Training Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday
- Lunch/Breaks: 1-hour lunch OR 30-minute lunch with two 15-minute breaks
- Regular Schedule After Training/Transition: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Friday

- Closed-toe shoes are required
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided
- Position may require working within a chemical laboratory environment
