About the Role:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Highland Care Center, you will work collaboratively with our Occupational Therapy team to design and implement effective treatment plans that promote independence, mobility, and function for our residents and patients. You will assist with evaluating patient needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing education and training to patients and their caregivers. Your exceptional communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will enable you to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and evaluations of patients' physical and mental abilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist

• Assist patients with exercises, activities, and daily living tasks to improve strength, flexibility, and coordination

• Educate patients and their caregivers on proper techniques and safety precautions

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and treatment plans

• Participate in patient care conferences and contribute to the development of interdisciplinary care plans

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care

Requirements:

• Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from the NBCOT

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
