Modesto / Central Valley, CA | On-Site | $150,000–$180,000 annually, DOE

Talent Group is partnering with a well-established and growing agricultural organization in California’s Central Valley to identify an experienced Director of Finance to join its leadership team.

\n


\n

This is a highly visible, hands-on finance leadership role responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, cash flow forecasting, and financial analysis while partnering closely with executive and operational leadership.

\n


\n

What You’ll Do

\n

    \n
  • Lead day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including AP, AR, Credit & Collections, and Payroll
  • \n

  • Manage and develop the accounting team while maintaining strong financial controls, policies, and procedures
  • \n

  • Oversee monthly close, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statement accuracy
  • \n

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for executive leadership, ownership, partners, and banking relationships
  • \n

  • Lead annual budgeting, including agricultural production costs, crop yield and pricing projections, and cash flow planning
  • \n

  • Oversee treasury activities, cash flow forecasting, lines of credit, borrowing base reporting, and debt compliance
  • \n

  • Partner with operations leadership to monitor spending, financial performance, and opportunities for improvement
  • \n

  • Provide financial analysis supporting capital investments, leases, purchasing decisions, pricing, contracts, and growth initiatives
  • \n

  • Present financial information and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors
  • \n

What We’re Looking For

\n

    \n
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility
  • \n

  • Experience within agricultural farming operations required
  • \n

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • \n

  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, treasury, and financial analysis
  • \n

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems and business intelligence/reporting tools
  • \n

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and partner effectively with operational and executive leadership
  • \n

  • Ability to confidently present financial information to senior leadership, ownership, and Boards
  • \n
