IP Legal Secretary
A prominent international law firm is seeking an experienced IP Legal Secretary to support attorneys and patent/trademark professionals in its Washington, DC or Los Angeles office. This role requires a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to patent and trademark attorneys
- Manage calendars, deadlines, meetings, travel arrangements, and correspondence
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and file legal documents and client communications
- Assist with billing, expense reports, invoicing, and matter management
- Maintain electronic and paper files, including document management systems
- Coordinate patent prosecution and trademark support tasks, including docket monitoring and USPTO-related filings
- Communicate professionally with clients, foreign associates, and internal departments
- Assist with overflow work and collaborate with team members to meet deadlines
Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal administrative experience
- 3+ years of patent prosecution experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Excellent organizational, communication, and proofreading skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with strong attention to detail
- Professional, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality
Compensation & Benefits
This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime. Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package are offered, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement benefits, and wellness-related reimbursement programs.
Salary range for Washington, DC: $92,000 – $126,500 annually.
