Technical Support Specialist

Who We’re Looking For
Macurco Inc. is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to be the first line of support for our customers, providing expert troubleshooting, analysis, and solutions for our industry-leading gas detection products. While the primary focus is on technical support, you’ll also perform occasional product repairs and evaluations (approximately 10% of the role).

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the go-to technical expert for customers via phone and email.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with gas detection products.
  • Manage and issue RMAs (Return Material Authorizations).
  • Investigate and document customer complaints and product nonconformities.
  • Collect and analyze data to improve technical support processes.
  • Create and maintain process documentation and work instructions.
  • Recommend system or product upgrades to improve customer experience.
  • Maintain repair inventory and tools; perform repairs and evaluations as needed.

Requirements:

What You Bring

Required:

  • Technical Associate’s Degree, specialized training, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of electronics principles and design.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Analog, Modbus, BACnet, Wireless, Relay logic).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Skilled with tools such as soldering equipment and multimeters.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with HVAC, Security Systems, Fire Alarms, or Building Controls.
  • Understanding of sensor technologies (Electrochemical, Catalytic Bead, Infrared, Solid State).
