Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer – Consultant with strong expertise in Microsoft enterprise technologies and infrastructure management. This role focuses on maintaining, optimizing, and securing network, server, and endpoint systems while supporting modernization initiatives and ensuring high availability.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong automation skills, experience in secure environments, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver scalable infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities:Technical Responsibilities:
- Manage and support enterprise environments using:
- Microsoft SCCM / MECM / Intune / MDM
- Windows Server (2019/2022/2025) & Windows 11
- Monitor and maintain network, server, and infrastructure systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell
- Support disaster recovery and failover processes
- Implement and maintain Active Directory (user access, RBAC)
- Work with virtualization technologies (VMware)
- Support MS SQL and clustering environments
- Recommend system improvements, upgrades, and optimizations
- Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements
Non-Technical Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
- Document processes, procedures, and system configurations
- Create training materials and user guides
- Manage multiple priorities and provide regular status updates
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders up to leadership level
- Ensure timely resolution of support tickets and issues
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
OR equivalent combination of education and experience - Minimum 5+ years of experience in:
- SCCM/MECM and Intune/MDM
- LAN/VLAN networking
- Change management processes
- VMware virtualization
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with:
- GCC High environment
- Active Directory (RBAC, permissions)
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., compliance frameworks)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications such as MCP, MCSE, or similar
- Experience with:
- STIG Hardening
- Hybrid cloud environments
- Hyperconverged infrastructure
- Shell scripting
- Experience working in public sector or large enterprise environments
