Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Technical Program Lead to support aerospace avionics development programs. This role will lead cross-functional teams in executing complex aerospace projects, including proposal development, cost estimation, project planning, execution oversight, and customer interface responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has strong aerospace program experience, a commitment to aviation safety and technical excellence, and the ability to manage technical scope, schedule, and cost performance in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development of proposals, statements of work (SOW), and cost estimates.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and program management.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, and resource forecasts using Microsoft Project.
- Monitor project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
- Lead risk management activities to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Manage scope changes through structured baseline and configuration control processes.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to provide regular program updates and resolve issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in project execution, tools, and processes.
- Ensure alignment with aviation safety, quality, and regulatory expectations throughout project lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in project engineering or technical program leadership within the aerospace industry.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to export control requirements.
- Experience supporting aerospace systems development programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial or military avionics systems (e.g., TCAS, ADS-B transponders).
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Experience leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts.
- Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience working with certification authorities and regulated aerospace environments.
- Willingness to travel for customer and internal meetings (domestic and international).
