The Doorman provides a gracious and professional welcome to members and guests, serving as the first point of contact while upholding the Clubs standards, traditions, and hospitality.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible and professional presence to monitor and manage front door, lobby, and coat check areas ensuring an engaged and seamless experience
- Enforce Club by-laws and standards respectfully, including dress code and electronic device policies, redirecting members or guests to appropriate areas when necessary
- Assist with any member requests including luggage, packages, umbrellas, wheelchairs
- Provide accurate information and directions to Club events and services
- Maintain cleanliness and order of the front entrance and adjacent public areas
Hospitality
- Maintain a neat, clean, and professional uniform appearance and practice good daily personal hygiene
- Demonstrate a consistently positive, calm, and member-focused demeanor
- Exhibit integrity, discretion, maturity, and sound judgment at all times
- Uphold the traditions, standards, and culture of a The Metropolitan Club
Experience & Qualifications
- 2+ years as a doorman in a distinguished private club, residence, or hotel
- Previous experience serving distinguished clientele
- Knowledge of the city including local attractions, services, events
- Success in a team environment demonstrated ability to work well with others
- English: high level of proficiency required. Ability to write, speak, comprehend, and converse with native speakers.
Requirements
- 38 hours per week (full-time)
- Schedule flexibility required to accommodate split shifts, evenings, and occasional weekends
- Able to complete physically demanding tasks with efficiency
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist
- Able to lift, carry, reach, and handle luggage and packages up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work outside in summer and winter weather extremes

The Metropolitan Club was organized in 1863 for literary and social purposes and for the
mutual improvement of its members. The continuing aim of the Club is to provide a
