The Opportunity

We’re looking for a driven Senior R&D Engineer with heart valve expertise to join our team. In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally to support the design and development of a TMVR system, with a strong focus on valve technologies.

This position requires deep technical knowledge, an understanding of clinical and regulatory requirements, and the ability to lead development efforts, influence technical decisions, and drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

Product Development

  • Lead the design and development of innovative heart valve technologies
  • Translate customer needs into product requirements
  • Develop and validate test methods, fixtures, and protocols (hydrodynamic, accelerated wear, tissue testing, etc.)
  • Partner with Manufacturing on technology transfer, scale-up, and process improvements

Technical Leadership

  • Build deep expertise in cardiovascular anatomy, heart valve technologies, and regulatory requirements
  • Troubleshoot challenges, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to design reviews

Testing & Analysis

  • Plan and execute bench testing, engineering studies, and preclinical evaluations
  • Lead verification and validation efforts for regulatory submissions
  • Analyze data and communicate findings to drive informed decisions

Regulatory & Quality

  • Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Support submission preparation
  • Partner with Quality to maintain strong testing, validation, and quality control processes

Project Management

  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Identify risks and proactively mitigate them
  • Communicate progress and challenges clearly to stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to stay aligned

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (Master’s/PhD preferred)
  • 5+ years of engineering/product development experience
  • 3+ years in medical devices (preferably interventional or implantable)

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience designing and testing complex medical devices
  • Strong problem-solving and technical leadership capabilities
  • Background in heart valve or structural heart technologies (highly preferred)
  • Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
  • Familiarity with materials and manufacturing processes (nitinol, tissue, extrusion, laser, etc.)
  • Experience with design controls, risk management, and ISO 13485/FDA QSR
  • Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks), FEA, and data analysis tools (Minitab)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and manage complex projects

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Maple Grove, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
