This role focuses on the development, testing, and integration of fault models within the Gateway autonomy architecture, specifically as part of the Vehicle Systems Manager (VSM) flight software. The ideal candidate will have a strong systems-level perspective and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across software, data, and fault signatures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead integration efforts related to fault management, with a focus on fault model development and validation.
- Diagnose issues during fault model testing, identifying root causes across software, data, model structure, and fault signatures.
- Analyze Gateway system failure modes and specify detection and isolation tests.
- Develop fault management (FM) data artifacts for diagnostic reasoner inputs.
- Collaborate with reliability engineers and modelers to integrate fault management strategies across Gateway’s distributed control architecture.
- Work with TEAMS-RT model-based inference engine software.
- Author documentation describing fault behavior and vehicle-level fault responses.
- Conduct development tests using Gateway telemetry or simulation data.
- Assist in the development of verification tests for Gateway requirements.
- Support validation tools including the Reporting Tool and Timeline Translator.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in systems engineering and reliability engineering.
- Proficiency in diagnostic model development and analysis.
- Familiarity with TEAMS diagnostics models.
- Strong skills in data correlation, integration, and validation.
- Ability to assess data correctness and accuracy in support of fault model development.
- Understanding of physics-based and engineering models, safety and mission assurance data, system schematics, and instrumentation lists.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience with NASA programs or aerospace fault management systems.
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.
