Job DescriptionRole Summary
The Continuous Improvement Lead is responsible for developing and executing strategies that optimize production processes, reduce waste, and drive measurable improvements in yield, quality, and cost efficiency. A primary focus of this role is to build organizational capability by delivering hands-on training and coaching in Lean and continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
This role plays a key part in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, leading cross-functional projects, and delivering structured training programs. While the individual in this role will have autonomy in selecting and applying methodologies, experience with Lean and Kaizen is essential. A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is highly preferred.
As a change agent, the Continuous Improvement Lead will embed Lean principles across the organization, support the adoption of new technologies, and reinforce standard work practices. Performance will be measured by the tangible results and operational improvements achieved through their initiatives.
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $80000 and $120000, an anticipated bonus of up to 10%
Core Duties & Responsibilities
1. Capability Building through Training & Coaching

Design and deliver practical training programs on Lean, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement (CI) methodologies.

Mentor staff and leadership across departments to integrate CI tools into daily routines.

Support onboarding and skill development with a focus on standardization and process excellence.
2. Lead Site-Wide Improvement Projects

Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

Use Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and similar methodologies to drive process improvements.

Manage major initiatives such as annual productivity improvement plans and performance targets.
3. Process Evaluation & Optimization

Conduct detailed assessments of workflows and identify process bottlenecks or inefficiencies.

Simplify and standardize operations using Lean techniques in preparation for digital upgrades.

Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standard work documentation.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with departments such as IT, engineering, and operations to align CI efforts with broader business objectives.

Work alongside front-line leaders to execute improvement initiatives and sustain results on the production floor.
5. Measure and Sustain Results

Establish KPIs and performance metrics to monitor and evaluate CI initiatives.

Promote sustainability through regular follow-ups, visual management, and process standardization.

Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive measures to address recurring issues.
6. Promote Safety and Operational Excellence

Ensure that all CI activities align with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Actively promote a culture of safety by modeling safe behaviors and adhering to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols.

Take personal responsibility for safety and encourage a culture of open communication and accountability.
Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement roles within manufacturing or production environments.

Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques.

Experience facilitating training sessions and workshops.

Excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and project management capabilities.

Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

Proficiency in using data to guide decision-making and assess performance outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.

Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives in production settings.

Familiarity with process analysis tools such as Minitab, Power BI, or Visio.

Knowledge of TPM, 5S, or other operational excellence methodologies.

Experience in developing and maintaining standard work documentation and SOPs.
