A respected real estate law practice in San Francisco is seeking a skilled Transactional Legal Secretary to provide onsite coverage during a planned leave of absence. While the immediate commitment is three weeks of coverage, there is potential for extension or temp-to-hire depending on business needs and overall fit.
This role supports a high-volume team of 30–35 attorneys through a centralized ticketing system. The ideal candidate brings strong transactional document experience, exceptional attention to detail, and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, revise, redline, and proof transactional real estate documents, including: Purchase agreements; Sale contracts; Lease agreements; Related transactional instruments
- Ensure document accuracy, proper formatting, and version control
- Manage high-volume ticketed requests from attorneys and prioritize effectively
- Maintain organized transaction files and confidential client information
- Provide day-to-day administrative support, including: Phone and email management; Office correspondence; File maintenance
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to meet deadlines in a fast-paced workflow
Experience & Qualifications
- 4+ years of legal secretarial or transactional support experience (real estate or business/transactional law strongly preferred)
- Proficiency with legal software, including NetDocuments, Draftable, ProLaw, and document automation tools such as CTC Macros (or similar).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe
- Demonstrated experience with document editing, substantial redlining, and complex formatting
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys simultaneously
- Ability to report onsite 5 days per week in San Francisco
