Required Minimum Education/Experience:
- 3-5 year's experience servicing and repairing mechanical components, diagnosing problems and performing maintenance on vehicles.
- Must have a Valid Driver's License and the ability to meet all driving qualifications.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, 75 pounds on occasion.
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written. Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and mandatory ergonomics medical exam required.
- Ability to drive and park a tractor trailer.
- Knowledge of refrigeration maintenance and diagnostics is highly desired.
- Experience servicing tractor trailers and refrigerated commercial vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic maintenance including checking fluid levels, changing the oil/filter and tire rotation on all types of trucks and vehicles.
- Perform general mechanical repairs to vehicles including trouble shooting problems and identifying solutions in reducing future malfunctions.
- Inspection of diesel and non-diesel engines, machinery and transmissions.
- Follow preventive maintenance servicing schedule.
- Complete all repairs of vehicles in accordance with DOT and State laws.
- Test drive and deliver trucks when needed.
- Will calibrate temperature of refrigeration equipment.
- Help maintain a clean shop area keeping tools and equipment organized and clean.
- Document all repairs performed and keep records of gauge readings and amounts of supplies used.
- Report any questionable damage or mechanical issues to management.
