About the Role
JAQUE is digitizing a large-scale, high-end furniture inventory for use in rendering, Revit, and e-commerce visualization. Our Lead 3D Scanning Specialist will handle allphysical scanningusing the EinScan HX2.
We are seeking a3D Scan Processing & File Optimization Specialistto work alongside the scanner and take ownership of thepost-scan pipeline transforming raw, imperfect scan data into clean, accurate, production-ready 3D assets.This role ishighly technical, detail-driven, and requires confidence working withnon-watertight meshes, noisy geometry, and real-world scan imperfections.
What Youll Be Responsible For
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive raw scan files from the Lead Scanner and prepare them for production use
- Clean, repair, and optimize mesh data (including:
- hole filling
- noise reduction
- decimation
- topology cleanup
- scale verification)
- Troubleshoot problematic scans and collaborate with the scanner to improve capture quality
- Convert and prepare files for use in:
- Revit
- Rhino
- Blender / D5 / rendering workflows
- Ensure files are accurate, lightweight, and usable for designers and render artists
- Maintain strict file naming conventions, version control, and folder organization
- Communicate clearly about issues, limitations, and recommendations for rescan or correction
- Help establish repeatable cleanup standards for hundreds of assets
What This Role IsNot
To be very clear, this role isnot:
- A junior modeling position
- A minor cleanup only role
- A role limited to already watertight or pristine meshes
- A physical scanning role
This position requiresproblem-solving confidenceand comfort making judgment calls on imperfect data.
Required Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated experience cleaning and repairingraw 3D scan data
- Strong mesh troubleshooting skills using tools such as:
- Blender
- Meshmixer
- Geomagic
- Maya or similar
- Deep understanding of mesh structure, scale accuracy, and real-world dimensions
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of file quality
- Experience preparing assets for downstream use (CAD, rendering, visualization)
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Clear communication skills able to explain issues and solutions
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience working with furniture, products, or organic forms
- Familiarity with Revit, Rhino, or architectural visualization pipelines
- Background in product visualization, digital fabrication, or reverse engineering
- Experience working in high-volume production environments
Contract Details
- Duration:3 Months (with potential extension or full-time transition)
- Hours:Full-time or near full-time during contract
- Schedule:Flexible daytime hours
- Pay:$22$32/hour depending on experience
