Purpose of Role
We are seeking a Senior Counsel or Partner-level Healthcare Regulatory Attorney to join our growing healthcare practice in Roseland, NJ. This is a high-impact role for an experienced attorney with deep regulatory expertise and the ability to serve as a subject matter expert across a broad range of healthcare compliance matters.

he ideal candidate will have strong experience with laws and regulations governing controlled dangerous substances prescribing, telehealth services, acceptable medical practices, as well as the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, corporate practice of medicine and related doctrines, and related regulatory frameworks. Experience as a former Deputy Attorney General (DAG), or in a prosecutorial, board, or advisory/counseling role, is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Advise on complex healthcare regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters, including risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide regulatory guidance in connection with healthcare transactions, including M&A and affiliations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on evolving regulatory requirements and enforcement trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage legal and compliance risk.
- Develop and deliver training and guidance to clients and internal teams on regulatory issues.
- Monitor and interpret changes in healthcare laws and regulations and advise accordingly.
- Build and maintain client relationships and contribute to practice growth.
- Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to team development.
Qualifications
- JD required; strong academic credentials.
- 10+ years of relevant healthcare regulatory experience.
- Admission to the NJ Bar required; NY admission a plus.
- Deep knowledge of Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, and corporate practice doctrines.
- Experience advising healthcare providers, health systems, or related entities.
- Experience handling government investigations, audits, or enforcement matters, including interaction with regulatory agencies (e.g., OIG, DOJ, CMS, state authorities).
- Experience advising on regulatory aspects of healthcare transactions is a plus.
- Familiarity with healthcare privacy laws (HIPAA and related regulations).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business judgment.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated ability to build client relationships and contribute to practice growth.
