Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department float pool position requiring float across multiple ER locations within a designated zone.

  • Acute care Emergency Department float pool position covering multiple ER locations within a designated zone
  • \n

  • Treats a variety of ER patients including abdominal pain, DM, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and HTN
  • \n

  • Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-5 based on acuity
  • \n

  • ER volume ranges from 6-49 patients per day, varying by location
  • \n

  • Facilities are non-trauma designated with STEMI and stroke send-out capability
  • \n

  • Charge nurse is present and takes an assignment
  • \n

  • Techs support unit secretary work and assist nurses on the floor and in triage
  • \n

  • RT is available 24/7 for breathing treatments and EKGs
  • \n

  • No monitor tech on unit; RN must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • \n

  • RNs will be trained to perform Point of Care lab testing
  • \n

  • Uses Epic EMR
  • \n

  • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • \n

  • Must float within the assigned zone's ER locations as scheduled
  • \n

  • No call or standby requirement
  • \n

  • Unit-specific orientation is 2-3 days
  • \n

  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • \n

  • 13-week assignment
  • \n

  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • \n
