HVAC Service Technician – Residential & Light Commercial
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused HVAC Service Technician to join our growing team! In this role, you will perform maintenance, diagnostic troubleshooting, repairs, and installations on residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Service & Troubleshooting: Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, and airflow issues across residential and commercial HVAC systems (AC units, gas furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits).
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine seasonal tune-ups, system inspections, filter replacements, and coil cleanings to ensure peak system efficiency and safety.
- Installations & Upgrades: Assist with or lead equipment replacement, smart thermostat installation, duct adjustments, and system commissioning.
- Customer Communication: Clearly explain technical diagnoses, recommend necessary repairs or system upgrades, and provide transparent pricing options to clients.
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly observe safety standards, local building codes, and EPA regulations when handling and recovering refrigerants (R-22, R-410A, R-32/R-454B).
- Documentation & Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain accurate digital work logs and invoice records; keep company service vans stocked, clean, and organized.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of field experience as an HVAC Service Technician preferred (or completion of an accredited HVAC trade school program).
- Certifications:

- Active EPA Universal Certification required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.
- NATE certification or state HVAC license is a strong plus.
- Technical Competencies: Proficient in reading electrical schematics, using diagnostic tools (multimeters, manifold gauges, leak detectors), and sizing/testing airflow.
- Communication & Professionalism: Excellent customer service skills, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and carry equipment up to 50–70 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying physical spaces, including attics, basements, crawl spaces, and rooftops.
- Comfort working in seasonal hot/cold weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders and stand for extended periods during shifts.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $25.00 – $38.00 / hour
- Job Type: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday – Friday (Day Shift) | Rotating On-Call / Weekend Availability
