Position Overview:
We are seeking a Nutanix Expert with extensive experience in hyperconverged infrastructure, storage administration, and project coordination within secure federal environments. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, an active Secret clearance, relevant Nutanix certifications, and the ability to perform both hands-on engineering and collaborative project management. This role will support the end-to-end planning, implementation, and operational management of storage services and Nutanix infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Coordination:
- Collaborate with Client storage support teams and onsite Resident Experts.
- Track and manage project tasks related to Nutanix and storage systems.
- Create project plans for file share and storage-related activities.
- Provide regular status reports and updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities to align with Client-defined service levels and timelines.
File System & Storage Best Practices:
- Implement and manage file systems based on industry and Client best practices.
- Ensure RAID configurations and standards are followed.
- Size and configure LUNs, volumes, and storage tiers according to workload needs.
- Align storage allocation to defined SLAs and service delivery expectations.
Policy & Storage Operations Management:
- Define and enforce policies for alarm routing and threshold management.
- Establish and maintain storage quotas.
- Manage alerts, tune performance, and proactively resolve storage system issues.
Software & Microcode Certification:
- Test and verify microcode and software updates.
- Conduct version control and regression testing for production readiness.
- Perform software upgrade planning and execution.
Continuity & Disaster Recovery:
- Monitor data replication and movement across sites.
- Integrate backup and recovery into existing frameworks and backup scripts.
- Support Business Resumption Planning (BRP) through periodic data integrity testing.
Day-to-Day Storage Administration:
- Respond to storage-related service requests, incidents, and alerts.
- Resolve issues related to disk space, backup errors, and access provisioning.
- Maintain logs and perform regular infrastructure monitoring.
- Assist in testing and validating disaster recovery operations.
- Manage change requests and document all configuration changes.
Host-Level Storage Access & Documentation:
- Enable host access to new or updated storage resources.
- Maintain current, accurate system and configuration documentation.
- Participate in audits and reviews of system performance and compliance.
Client-Facing Support & Engagement:
- Provide technical guidance and support to Client stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Clients business continuity plans.
- Support continuity and DR events or exercises, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret security clearance (or higher).
- 5+ years of experience with Nutanix AOS, AHV/ESXi, Prism Central, and NX Series.
- Expertise in enterprise storage solutions and SAN/NAS infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of file system architecture, LUN provisioning, and RAID configurations.
- Hands-on experience in secure federal or DoD IT environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technical projects and track progress.

- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
- Preferred:
- Nutanix Certified Advanced Professional (NCAP)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570 compliant)
- ITIL v4 Foundation or higher
Additional Skills & Tools:
- Scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and task orchestration
- Familiarity with backup/restore solutions (Cohesity, Commvault, Veeam, etc.)
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and log analysis
- Understanding of data governance and NIST compliance frameworks
