Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing essential speech and language support for students across PreK to 12th grade. In this role, you'll collaborate within an engaging school environment, stepping in to cover a medical leave starting October 1, 2026, with potential extension through the end of the semester. The caseload consists of approximately 40 students, including some nonverbal children, which presents a unique chance to utilize and expand your expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative speech-language services to a diverse population of students, addressing a full range of communication needs
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for students, collaborating with classroom staff and families
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements
  • Support students with low-tech AAC devices, enhancing communication and participation
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to team recommendations, and provide professional insights
  • Begin the assignment with an opportunity to shadow the current SLP, ensuring a smooth transition of care

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or similar
  • Valid ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Current New Jersey Department of Education certification (NJDOE CERT)
  • School-based SLP experience, with preference given to those experienced with AAC devices and nonverbal student populations
  • Commitment to in-person service—remote and teletherapy options are not available

Make a meaningful impact on students’ lives as you work autonomously and collaboratively within a supportive school setting. If you are passionate about fostering communication growth and are ready for a dynamic in-person assignment, submit your application today to help students reach their fullest potential!

Compensation for this position ranges from $48.00 to $64.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
