Job Description

As a Airport Security Officer in Kailua-Kona, HI, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of all passengers, staff, and airport facilities. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, engaging with the public, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication. Position Type: Part Time - Afternoon

Pay Rate: $22.50 / Hour with an hourly bonus of $1.96. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 21+ years of age
  • Have ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam
  • Ability to obtain AOA badge (Federal Background Check in ordinance with DOT requirements)

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, passengers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an airport location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical situations, and alarms, and communicate updates to site leadership and public agency partners as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, curbside areas, parking structures, and perimeter access points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas by observing pedestrian and vehicle traffic, verifying credentials or authorization as required, and documenting observations in activity reports.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and policy violations, and assist with crowd direction and queue management during peak travel periods as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
