McCain Engineering is seeking an experienced Industrial Boiler & Commercial Service Technician to support industrial, institutional, and commercial customers throughout Louisiana and the Southern United States.

This is a high-level, hands-on field service role involving:

  • Boiler troubleshooting and repair
  • \n

  • Combustion tuning
  • \n

  • Startup and commissioning
  • \n

  • Controls and electrical diagnostics
  • \n

  • Preventive maintenance
  • \n

  • Emergency service support
  • \n

Our technicians work on both:

\n

    \n
  • Large industrial steam and hot water systems
  • \n

  • Commercial and institutional boiler systems
  • \n

\n

Projects may include manufacturing facilities, hospitals, universities, schools, commercial buildings, processing plants, and temporary/rental boiler installations.

Position Overview\n

This is primarily a travel-based field service position supporting customers across the Southern U.S. region.

  • Startup and commissioning assignments

  • Emergency service calls

Technicians are typically dispatched directly to job sites and operate independently in the field.

What You’ll Do\n

    \n
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial and commercial boiler systems
  • \n

  • Perform combustion analysis and burner tuning
  • \n

  • Diagnose electrical, controls, and automation issues
  • \n

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and control drawings
  • \n

  • Perform startup and commissioning of boilers, burners, and related systems
  • \n

  • Support temporary/rental boiler projects
  • \n

  • Inspect and service safeties, valves, pumps, and limit circuits
  • \n

  • Interface directly with plant personnel, facility managers, contractors, and customers
  • \n

  • Complete service reports and communicate findings professionally
  • \n

What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications\n

    \n
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • \n

  • Industrial boiler service
  • \n

  • Commercial boiler service
  • \n

  • Combustion systems
  • \n

  • Industrial electrical troubleshooting
  • \n

  • Burner controls
  • \n

  • Mechanical or industrial field service
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of:
  • \n

  • Combustion systems
  • \n

  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • \n

  • Burner management controls
  • \n

  • Limit and safety circuits
  • \n

  • Ability to work independently in field environments
  • \n

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • \n

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • \n

  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Southern U.S.
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications\n

    \n
  • Journeyman Electrician certification
  • \n

  • Experience with:
  • \n

  • Fireye, Siemens, Honeywell, or similar controls
  • \n

  • PLCs and VFDs
  • \n

  • Steam and hot water systems
  • \n

  • Commercial hydronic systems
  • \n

  • Industrial combustion systems
  • \n

  • Startup and commissioning work
  • \n

  • $35–$50/hr depending on experience and qualifications
