Job Description

Mount Indie is seeking world-class Systems Integration & Test Engineers to join our team in delivering next-generation communication solutions for our nations warfighters. In this role, youll lead integration and testing efforts in our Systems Integration Lab (SIL), support flight and ground demonstrations, and ensure mission-critical systems meet stringent DoD standards. If youre passionate about technology, teamwork, and national security, we want to hear from you!

What you'll do:

  • Develop and Execute Test Plans:Translate system requirements into detailed test requirements and procedures, conduct integration and testing in lab and field environments, and verify system functionality against DoD standards.
  • Lead Complex Integration Efforts:Decompose intricate architectural challenges into executable plans, coordinating with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, network, and systems engineers) to integrate systems into broader system-of-systems architectures.
  • Support Flight and Ground Demonstrations:Participate in planning, execution, and troubleshooting of flight tests, ground-based demonstrations, and other operational evaluations.
  • Ensure Configuration Control:Maintain strict configuration management of all test artifacts, including hardware, software, and test documentation, to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues:Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions for issues in test environments, architectures, and equipment during integration and test events.
  • Drive Security and Compliance:Advocate for and enforce DoD security protocols (e.g., RMF, DoD 8570 compliance) and engineering best practices to safeguard controlled items and ensure system integrity.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders:Interface with program managers, engineering teams, and external customers to align on requirements, resources, and long-term project vision.
  • Innovate Tools and Processes:Design and implement architectures, tools, and testbed features to enhance integration, testing, and verification efficiency.
  • Mentor and Lead Teams:Guide junior engineers and technical staff in testing best practices, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

We are looking for:

  • Education:B.S. in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (M.S. preferred).
  • Experience:8-12 years of hands-on experience in systems integration and test, with at least 5 years in a DoD environment supporting C4ISR systems.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in Linux OS and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Shell) for test automation and debugging.
  • Deep understanding of RF communications (LOS, SATCOM, mesh networks), IP networking, and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP).
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Gitlab for continuous integration.
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators) and calibration processes.
  • Knowledge of automated test frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Robot, or similar) and regression testing for software-intensive systems.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in military aircraft integration, including subsystem interfacing, avionics integration, and platform compatibility testing to meet stringent DoD requirements and enhance operational readiness.
  • Solid foundation in writing test plans, test cases, planning and coordinating test events, and managing requirements and verification traceability through tools like IBM DOORS, Jama Connect, etc.
  • Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Kubernetes, Docker) and cloud-based testing environments.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality documentation and configuration control.
  • Leadership and Soft Skills:
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in an integration and test environment, directing hardware, network, and software integration efforts.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving complex technical issues under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, external customers, and DoD stakeholders.
