Job Title: Senior Litigation Paralegal (Heavy Drafting Focus)

Location: Long Beach NY

Type: Full-time.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 per year (DOE).

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal who takes pride in their written work. This is not an entry-level administrative role; it is a substantive legal position for a professional who thrives on drafting complex legal documents.
The ideal candidate has significant experience in NY CPLR and civil litigation and possesses the ability to take a file from inception through trial preparation with minimal supervision. You will be the right hand to our attorneys, specifically tasked with drafting pleadings, motions, and urgent injunctive relief applications.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Advanced Legal Drafting (Primary Focus)
* Draft fundamental litigation documents from scratch, including Summons and Complaints and Answers, ensuring all jurisdictional requirements are met.
* Prepare complex substantive motions, including Motions to Dismiss, Summary Judgment Motions, and Cross-Motions.
* Draft urgent applications for injunctive relief, specifically Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs) and Orders to Show Cause, often under tight deadlines.
* Prepare supporting affidavits, affirmations, and memorandums of law for attorney review.


2. Case Management & Litigation Support
* Manage the full lifecycle of litigation cases.
* Conduct legal research using [Westlaw/LexisNexis] to support arguments in motions and pleadings.
* Analyze discovery requests and responses; draft Bills of Particulars and discovery demands/responses.
* Prepare trial binders, exhibit lists, and witness files.


3. Filing & Procedure
* File documents electronically via state and federal court systems (e.g., ECF/PACER, NYSCEF, etc.).
* Manage the court calendar, ensuring no deadlines for opposition papers or court appearances are missed.
* Communicate with court clerks and judges' chambers to ensure compliance with individual part rules.Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of substantive litigation experience.
* Drafting Expertise: You must be able to provide writing samples. We are looking for someone who understands how to construct a legal argument, not just someone who fills in templates.

* Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or ABA-Approved Paralegal Certificate preferred.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Word (advanced formatting, Tables of Authorities), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and case management software (MyCase).
* Urgency: Demonstrated ability to handle the pressure of filing TROs and emergency motions without sacrificing accuracy.
