We are seeking a highly qualified Maintenance Tech- Helper C for our fabulous community SCIO @ Medical District.
The schedule for this position will be 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Sunday through Thursday.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Tech—Helper C performs routine upkeep of the apartment community, including buildings, amenities, and surrounding areas, ensuring a welcoming impression for residents, guests, and team members on-site. The position encompasses maintaining the community's curb appeal while communicating effectively and professionally. Assigned tasks are expected to be completed on time and will likely require operating tools and equipment following safety and operations standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleans the leasing office, clubhouse, and common-area restrooms, the model(s), amenities, and vacant apartment homes daily or as directed by the appropriate supervisor.
- Responsible for meticulous upkeep and trash removal of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing office, parking lots, and community common areas
- Assist in the cleaning and preparation of units, including trash removal from vacant apartments
- Complete weather preparation and clean up as needed
- Organize, maintain, and utilize provided supplies in a cost-effective manner
- Present an appearance appropriate to the image of the company
- Ensures all vacant apartment homes and show units are freshened throughout the day to maintain market-ready appeal.
- Assists in the make-ready process by performing additional duties requested by the Head Janitor, Property Manager, and/or Assistant Manager.
- Inspects the community throughout the day to remove litter, debris, and pet droppings and ensure all common areas and amenities are neat and free of litter at all times.
- Removes trash and remaining items from vacant apartments before starting the make-ready process, transfers trash to dumpster or storage area as applicable, and cleans and maintains storage areas.
- Completes assigned minor and routine service requests as requested by the Head Janitor or Property Manager and assists the make-ready specialist in the turn process.
- Informs appropriate supervisors of any observed hazard or potentially dangerous situation for residents, team members, guests, and others.
- Demonstrates customer service skills by treating residents and others with respect, answering resident questions, and responding sensitively to complaints about maintenance services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of one year of Porter experience preferred
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques, building, and grounds maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to understand instructions and communicate in basic English
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
- SEIU Local 1 Helper C Certificate (ten (10) week janitorial program)-preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods and bend, stoop, climb ladders, reach, carry objects, and crawl in confined areas.
- Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, sleet).
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to twenty-five (25) pounds independently and fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
- Rare or regular travel may be required to assist other properties as needed, attend training classes, business meetings, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all of the daily responsibilities of this position.
