Paralegal - Defense Litigation (On-site, Long Island)

Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an experienced defense litigation Paralegal in our Long Island Office. The individual will be responsible for supporting a team of attorneys with litigation tasks from inception through trial and close.
Responsibilities:
- Manage client cases from inception through trial and closing.
- Daily time entry billing requirements.
- Obtain, review, analyze and summarize documents, including medical records, financial documents and other relevant case information.
- Trial preparation – such as trial binders, exhibits and preparing witness files.
- Manage court docket calendar.
- Create status reports and provide updates to appropriate parties.
- Willingness to work on cases from start to finish and meet all court deadlines.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation support.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.
- Demonstrated interest in defense litigation.
- Ability to perform legal research, experience with Lexis a plus.
- Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records.
- Experience with time entry billing in a law firm setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.
- Ability to work onsite from our Long Island, NY office
The salary range for this position is $75,000-$80,000 and is dependent upon various factors such as education, experience and internal equity.
