Step into a meaningful role supporting students with diverse learning needs for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position seeks experienced and compassionate Special Education Teachers ready to make a profound impact in self-contained classrooms, working with elementary through high school students who have varying needs, including mild to severe disabilities and behavioral challenges.
Positions available include:
- Two openings for Elementary Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - Self Contained
- One Middle School/High School ASD - Self Contained
- One Cognitive Impairments Teacher
You’ll work with students requiring a high level of structure and individualized support, developing adapted instruction and behavior strategies tailored to each learner’s unique strengths. The role offers opportunities to collaborate closely with other educators and develop innovative programs, with a strong support network and ample time before the school year to prepare or adjust credentials if needed.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education Teaching License (substitute certifications are not eligible)
- For High School Autism position: Bachelor’s degree with ASD endorsement or related special education certification, plus willingness to pursue further ASD coursework if necessary
- Emotional Impairments certification or Autism endorsement required
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practices for students with significant disabilities and behavioral needs
- Flexibility and resilience in self-contained settings
- Ability to set high expectations while cultivating an inclusive, supportive environment
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction and adaptive strategies for students with cognitive, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Foster positive learning environments, using proactive behavior management techniques
- Collaborate with school staff and families to promote student growth
