Job Description

The Mobile Engineer will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple locations, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally. This role involves demonstrating technical expertise in electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, and central utility plant operations, along with multi-skilled capabilities in related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire life safety, and control systems.
  • Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper function and maintenance.
  • Oversee facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
  • Maintain and optimize HVAC systems and associated equipment through cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts.
  • Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation.
  • Comply with departmental policy for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
  • Monitor quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and recognize and propose methods to eliminate safety hazards.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot commercial or industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.
  • Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.

Work Environment

Work involves traveling between multiple facilities, utilizing company-provided vans and tools. Typical banking hours apply, with occasional overtime. The role requires strong HVAC skills, with no boiler or appliance repair, and involves working with residential and commercial HVAC systems, plumbing, and facility maintenance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winston-Salem, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
