Our client, a global Japanese semiconductor manufacturer, is seeking a Jr. or Sr. Field Service Engineer to join their team.
Title: Jr. or Sr. Field Service Engineer
Industry: Semiconductor
Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire, Exempt
Location: Malta, NY (supporting local and East Coast clients; travel required)
Salary:$85,000–$100,000 Depending on candidate experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- At least one year of related engineering experience (FSE II)
- Prior semiconductor capital equipment FSE experience
- Technical product knowledge with the ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members
- Experience in installation, maintenance, and sustaining capital equipment
- Ability to solve complex technical problems independently
- Preferred technical experience: hardware, software, laser, robotics, optics, vacuum systems
- Flexibility for domestic and international travel, must be able to travel internationally for 1 year of training in Japan
- Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call work as needed
- Japanese/English bilingual skills preferred
Duties
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for company products
- Inspect, maintain, and manage local service structure to ensure high performance
- Act as a liaison between customers and company engineering teams
- Provide preventive or on-call maintenance for customer equipment in assigned territories
- Work primarily on assigned machinery and assist with the introduction of new products
- Install machines in collaboration with movers and electricians; report any quality issues to the Field Service Manager
- Train customers and internal teams on product operation and maintenance
