The Live Hang Team Member is responsible for the safe and humane handling of live poultry and for placing birds onto the processing line in accordance with company policies, USDA regulations, animal welfare standards, and food safety requirements. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with all humane handling procedures.
Key responsibilities include hanging live birds onto the processing line at required production rates, monitoring bird condition, identifying and reporting animal welfare concerns, maintaining proper handling techniques, and adhering to all safety, sanitation, and quality standards. Employees must work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining focus and attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely and humanely handle live birds and place them onto the processing line.
- Maintain required production rates while ensuring proper bird placement.
- Follow all company animal welfare policies and humane handling procedures.
- Comply with USDA, OSHA, GMP, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
- Identify and report any animal welfare, quality, equipment, or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and team members to achieve production goals.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and biosecurity requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours per day.
- Free use of hands and full range of arm movement.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to properly wear personal protective and sanitary equipment.
- Ability to work in varying environmental and weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform the full scope of job duties without restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge
