Job DescriptionApplication Software DeveloperJob OverviewcFocus Software is seeking a Software Engineer III (Software Developer) to support the Security Tools and Infrastructure Modernization (STIM) contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The Software Engineer III will provide senior-level expertise in software design, development, and integration, delivering secure, high-quality applications to support mission objectives.Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Develop and consume APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) to integrate applications with enterprise systems.
• Support full-stack development, including front-end, back-end, and database components.
• Implement secure coding practices in compliance with OWASP, NIST 800-53, and federal cybersecurity standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, and QA teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Participate in DevOps CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments.
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical guidance.
• Prepare technical documentation including design specifications, user guides, and system diagrams.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expertise with languages such as Java, C#, .NET, Python, or JavaScript.
• Proficiency with frameworks such as Angular, React, Spring Boot, or .NET Core.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience building applications in Agile development environments.
• Proven ability to lead software development tasks and mentor junior developers.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, Oracle Certified Professional (Java SE), or AWS Certified Developer – Associate.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification is highly desirable.

Clearance Requirement

• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (Moderate to High-Risk) clearance.
