Job Description

We are currently looking for FAA experienced Computer Scientist / Electrical Engineer to support site activation activities at TAMR sites across the country. The candidate will have A MUST experience supporting the FAA with setup, configuration, deployment, and basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and peripheral devices for end users. This role focuses on efficient, repeatable IT support activities that ensure staff are up and running with minimal downtime. Ideal for fast-paced environments, onboarding scenarios, and off-site locations, the position requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a customer-service mindset.


Maintains network systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware, and related network software and applications.


Installs and maintains peripheral devices including printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.


Communicates with end users to understand and troubleshoot problems.


Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function and minimal downtime.


Deploy, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software (laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and mobile devices) in accordance with FAA security and configuration baselines.


Perform plug-and-play setup for new users and workstations, ensuring compliance with FAA-approved hardware and software standards.


Assist with user account provisioning, deprovisioning, and hardware issuance in coordination with FAA-approved identity and access management protocols.


Provide Tier 1 technical support for hardware, system access, basic networking, and application issues in accordance with FAA service-level requirements.


Maintain accurate inventory and asset tracking records in accordance with FAA documentation standards and property accountability guidelines.


Coordinate hardware refreshes, moves, and deployments for FAA personnel, ensuring minimal disruption to mission-critical systems.


Support compliance with FAA IT security policies, including patch management, system hardening, multi-factor authentication, and encryption practices.


Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate Tier 2/3 personnel or FAA support teams while documenting all steps taken.


Perform other duties as assigned


Education / Experience Required


!!! MUST HAVE FAA EXPERIENCE !!!


Associate Degree in Computer Networking, Information Technology, Network Systems Administration, Computer Science


Bachelor's degree in information technology, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity Computer Science, Information Systems.


Technical certification preferred in CompTIA Network+

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

CompTIA Security+

Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals



2-5 years of experience in IT support or a similar hands-on technical role.


Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft Office 365, basic networking concepts, and mobile device setup.


Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to follow documented procedures.


Excellent customer service and communication skills.


CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification.


Experience using help desk ticketing systems and IT asset management tools.



Pursuant to Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12, FAA Order 1600.1F and FAA Order 1600.78 employees are required to submit fingerprints and pass a 7-year background investigation. Employees may also be required to pass a drug test.
