SUMMARY
Facilities Maintenance Technician (FMT) is responsible for keeping Foodlink facilities clean and well-functioning. The FMT works within the Facilities & Technology department, with a day-to-day focus on custodial and facility maintenance tasks. The FMT is expected to work within a flexible, fast paced environment, and is able prioritize job duties in collaboration with the supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilities Maintenance
Perform hands-on property maintenance in office, warehouse, and kitchen settings including but not limited to; wall & carpet repair, moving of furniture, and mechanical system tasks not requiring a license
Assist with equipment maintenance as needed including floor scrubber, fork lifts, and vehicles
Assess facility maintenance priorities and make recommendations for tasks able to performed in-house or contracted
Review online work order system to prioritize tasks
Work collaboratively with supervisor and peers to identify facility maintenance needs and areas of growth and improvement
Custodial
Responsible to maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the Foodlink facility.
Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as: cleaning floors, bathrooms, offices, outdoor cleanup, and removing rubbish.
Maintain facility in a sanitary condition through washing, cleaning and replacement of equipment and furnishings.
Clean and sanitize restrooms as well as refilling restroom dispensers. Must clean up human waste and other body fluids, as required.
Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials daily.
Clean, dust and wipe furniture, light fixtures, window sills, etc.; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors.
Assist with the set-up of facilities for meetings, conferences and events.
Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing debris from the sidewalk, front entrance and volunteer entrance.
Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis.
Operate floor scrubber including set up and maintenance.
Maintain inventory records and requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning maintenance.
Following daily, weekly, monthly and bi-annual sanitation schedules to ensure the cleanest environment possible for our clients and staff.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
High school degree and a minimum of 3 years’ experience required: or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in the building trades including; electrical, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical, painting
Experience working in a warehouse or kitchen facility environment desired
Fully developed communications and public speaking skills; Ability to communicate effectively across an organization
Proven ability to build and maintain effective work relationships internally and externally
Self motivation and ability to work independently
Working ability to use Microsoft office programming including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time position paid on an hourly basis, ranging from $18.30-$24.75 per hour (DOE). Foodlink covers 100% of individual health and dental insurance with the ability to acquire family coverage with pretax dollars. In addition to generous paid time off (PTO), we observe 14 paid holidays throughout the year. Opportunity to contribute to a 401k retirement savings plan upon hire. Eligible for generous employer match after 1 year of service. Certain positions, depending on their responsibilities and at the approval of Human Resources, are eligible for a personal cell phone usage stipend. This position is eligible for a Class I personal cell phone usage stipend, paid biweekly at a rate of $24. The value of the stipend is based on Foodlink budget and is subject to change at any time. This is not a reimbursement program.

Ability to left and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working at heights and in confined space. Able to work in varying weather conditions indoors and outdoors.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel items such as documents. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. Able to lift bulk objects or objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
