Senior/Lead Software Engineer (Full-Stack, Rust, DeFi) - Crypto Trading Company

Location: Austin, TX

Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 Base, Total Comp up to $400,000 (with Equity)

Working for a high-growth start-up in the DeFi trading space, building a next-generation on-chain perpetuals trading platform. The focus is on speed, security, and deep liquidity. The company is based in Austin, TX, with plans to expand the team. Small, tight-knit, 10-person team with ex-Coinbase leadership. Token and community launched just two months ago. Already generated $1.3 million in profits.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect and implement performant on-chain systems, including smart contracts for trading, liquidity, and settlement.
• Design secure, gas-efficient, and upgradeable contract systems.
• Build backend services for critical functions like order flow, pricing, position data, and funding.
• Integrate index price feeds, oracles, and risk-management logic.
• Lead technical decisions, code reviews, and help establish best practices for the team.

What We're Looking For (Must-Haves)

• Experience: Ideally six years of experience for senior roles, but we are open to exceptional candidates with less experience (down to two or three years) who demonstrate a strong growth potential and track record.
• Technical Stack: Proficiency in Rust is important. Experience working full-stack with a strong focus on the backend is required. Familiarity with Solidity is also required.
• AI Tool Mastery (Critical Requirement): Professional use of modern AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Anti-Gravity) is critical. We expect candidates to be highly skilled at leveraging these tools.
• Sector Knowledge: Crypto knowledge is important. Candidates must be familiar with foundational crypto concepts and, ideally, with perpetuals, AMMs, derivatives, or on-chain trading mechanics.
