Retail Sales Associate – Fitness Faction (Part-Time)
Fitness Faction is a specialty supplement and nutrition store in Barnegat, NJ, focused on helping customers get better results through education, high-quality products, and a great in-store experience.
Role summary
We’re hiring a part-time Retail Sales Associate who loves fitness, supplements, and talking to people. You’ll help customers choose the right products for their goals, keep the store looking sharp, and support day-to-day operations.
What you’ll do
- Greet every customer, learn their goals, and recommend products that fit their needs (pre-workouts, proteins, health support, etc.).
- Educate customers on how to use products safely and effectively within general guidelines (serving size, timing, stacking basics, etc.).
- Run the register: handle transactions accurately, process returns/exchanges, and make sure every customer leaves with what they need and a great experience.
- Restock shelves, rotate product by date, face products, and keep displays clean and organized.
- Help with inventory tasks: checking in orders, putting away stock, and flagging low inventory or best-sellers.
- Maintain store cleanliness (counter, floor, fridges, sample area) throughout your shift.
- Support basic content moments (quick product clips, stories, or customer education moments) as needed for social media. This is light, not a full content role.
What we’re looking for
- Genuine interest in fitness, bodybuilding, or general health, and a desire to learn about supplements in depth.
- Comfortable starting conversations, asking questions, and guiding customers without being pushy.
- Reliable, on time, and able to follow a daily checklist without constant supervision.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude with all customers.
- Basic comfort with technology (POS system, simple inventory lookups, basic apps).
- Able to stand for most of the shift and occasionally lift boxes of product.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior retail, supplement store, gym front-desk, or customer service experience.
- Existing knowledge of common supplement categories (protein, pre-workout, creatine, vitamins, etc.).
Hours, pay, and growth
- Part-time role: approximately 15–25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Consistent schedule where possible, with flexibility around peak times and store events.
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience, with opportunities to earn more as responsibilities grow.
