Position: Feed Team Member
Location: Hulsbosch Dairy Farm LLC – Greensburg, IN 47240
Department: Feeding
Reports to: Lead Feeder, Feed Manager
Position Summary
The Feed Team Member contributes to the effective management of the feeding process. This position works closely with the team to ensure cows consistently receive high-quality feed according to the feeding plan designed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all established guidelines (safety, cleanliness, feeding, driving)
- Understand feed groups and ration differences
- Unload and grind straw
- Push out feed and record back weights
- Deface and bring in forages
- Open and maintain forage piles (including but not limited to removing tires, plastic and spoiled feed)
- Tractors, loaders, skid steers, and telehandlers are safely operated.
- Follow instructions from the lead feeder
- Monitor and report observations (changes in feed, equipment maintenance, breakdowns, etc.)
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience operating farm equipment (tractors, loaders, skid steers, telehandlers) preferred
- Prior dairy or livestock experience a plus, but not required; training provided

- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail in feed preparation and recordkeeping
- Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment care and troubleshooting
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment
- Farm-based position with daily exposure to livestock and agricultural settings
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Flexible work schedule; longer hours may be required during busy seasons
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis (feed and equipment handling)
- Ability to walk, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods in barn and field environments
- Comfortable operating and working around heavy equipment and livestock
- Comfortable with heights
