Job DescriptionOverview
The Parts Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the parts department operations within our organization. This position is responsible for ordering, receiving, managing and controlling inventory, supplier relationships, and ensuring that all parts are available to meet the demands of our store operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, small engine diagnostics, and warehouse management, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement and inventory of automotive parts and supplies to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Oversee supplier management, including negotiation of pricing and terms to maximize profitability.
  • Utilize our management software system for effective inventory control and data entry processes.
  • Coordinate logistics for shipping and receiving of parts, ensuring timely delivery to support operational needs.
  • Implement demand planning strategies to forecast inventory requirements based on service department needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, orders, and supplier information using order management systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to parts availability.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure alignment between parts supply and production schedules.
  • Train and supervise warehouse staff in best practices for inventory management and equipment repair.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Experience in supplier management with proven negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with outdoor equipment diagnostics and repair processes.
  • Proficient in warehouse management techniques, including shipping & receiving protocols.
  • Experience with procurement management and sourcing strategies.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
  • Ability to manage logistics effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in dealership operations or auto body repair is preferred.
