<h3>Job Description</h3>
Job Description Summary This part-time position at the Northwest CT YMCA in Torrington, CT, supports the creation of a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. Available positions are in the afternoon with opportunity to work additional hours as a substitute when needed. Duties The Childcare Assistant assists lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities, supports classroom management, and fosters a positive learning atmosphere. Responsibilities include classroom supervision, adhering to licensing requirements, maintaining a clean, organized classroom, and working in any of the center's programs as needed. Requirements Qualifications

<li>Experience with Childcare </li>
<li>Strong Communication skills </li>
<li>Patience, creativity, and a caring attitude to foster a positive learning environment</li>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred</li>
<li>Must be over the age of 18</li>
