Good Harvest Market, Waukesha County's largest independently owned natural grocer, is currently seeking to hire a SEASONAL part-time Produce Stocker Clerk to help us care for our seasonal outdoor and indoor department needs.
Along with basic stocking, display rotation, produce culling, and department cleaning, this role will also assist in ensuring our organic plants which we stock for the spring season are well cared for and watered.
This part-time seasonal opportunity is expected to start in early April and will come with about 12-15 hours per week, with most shifts being around 3-4 hours in length. These hours could work around school hours for students. After our seasonal need for this role has completed, permanent employment options can be reviewed at that time if permanent employment with us is an interest. However permanent employment will not be guaranteed. Seasonal employees also can return to us during holiday periods should we have the need for extra help, so long as they remain in good standing with our business.
The ideal candidate for this role can handle and enjoys providing exceptional customer service, learning about the seasonality and growing conditions of a variety of organic fruits and vegetables, can lift up to 50 lbs as needed and can work independently once trained.
Our produce department features only certified organic produce, sourced locally whenever possible. We focus on artful displays of seasonal produce and intensive customer service.

Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Stocking (including washing, bundling and trimming), rotating, merchandising and facing product according to department procedure and management expectation.
- Properly maintains the watering and culling of seasonal organic seedling plants.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of fresh produce, with an emphasis on organic production, and provides information to customers regarding their use and preparation.
- Maintain sample product on floor (rotate, maintain, and dispose of as needed).
- Disposes of culls according to department procedure.
- Maintains back-stock areas according to department standards.
- Properly opening and/or closing the department as directed.
- Communicates with team effectively and as needed.

Qualifications:
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Minimum one year prior produce stocking experience preferred.
- Flexible retail availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to provide regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for 4+ hours at a time.
- Strong work ethic.
Environmental/Physical Conditions
- Constant walking, reaching, and bending,
- Frequent squatting, climbing, and lifting.
- Temperatures of environment will vary. (working walk-in and reach-in refrigeration units for extended time periods, unloading pallets outdoors in cold/hot/rainy/snowy weather)
