MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
Northlake, Illinois
Compensation: $34.70 hourly
Responsibilities
- Performs routine, emergency and preventive maintenance work on office and plant equipment, machines and building facilities.
- Assist in maintaining plant security.
- Maintain equipment and tools.
- Dispose of waste materials, empty containers, and piece drums accordingly.
- Calibrate equipment as needed/required.
- Keep work areas clean.
- Can perform up to 60% of procedures within department.
Qualifications
- Required Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and write and do simple arithmetic.
- Working knowledge of mechanics.
- Ability to read blueprints and sketches.
- Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring, and general mechanics.
Required Skills
- Must be familiar and thoroughly experienced in all facets of maintenance: mechanical, electrical, building and vehicle repairs.
- Mechanical: Pumps (positive displacement and centrifugal), drives (gearbox, belt, chain, hydraulic, couplings, motor-electric, motors-air, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps and dies).
- Electrical: High voltage 460-volt 3 phase, motor controls, low voltage (120V power and control wiring), AC and DC systems.
- Computer controlled systems.
- Utilities: Piping (water, air and steam), Boilers - understand Steam condensate system - tracing, coils, traps and pumps.
- Air Compressor system - including filters, regulators, dryers and lubricators.
- HVAC - air handling, blowers, dust collectors.
- Vehicles: Lift trucks - electric EE rated, battery and hydraulics.
