Role Description The Corporate Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Kansas City, MO, responsible for overseeing all aspects of corporate accounting and financial reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing the general ledger, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. The role involves leading and mentoring the accounting team, overseeing the month-end and year-end close processes, and managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis. The Corporate Controller will develop and maintain internal controls, coordinate audits with external auditors, and collaborate with leadership on financial strategy, cost analysis, and process improvements. This position also requires close partnership with operations and staffing teams to support decision-making with accurate financial data and insights.

Qualifications

- Strong corporate accounting and financial reporting skills, including general ledger management, month-end close, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls, and to manage external audits and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and comfort working with financial dashboards and reporting tools.
- Leadership experience managing accounting teams, including delegation, coaching, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
- Prior experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager, ideally within professional services, staffing, or similar multi-entity environments.
- Ability to work on-site in Overland Park, KS and maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical judgment.
