Job Description

Gottlieb & Greenspan is a rapidly growing law firm at the forefront of healthcare reimbursement litigation, with a specialized focus on disputes arising under the No Surprises Act (NSA). Our firm is known for its high‑stakes advocacy, strategic litigation approach, and commitment to delivering exceptional results for our clients. We pride ourselves on being ethical, respectful, accountable, positive, driven, and committed to excellence.

We are seeking a healthcare/medical reimbursement attorney with New Jersey PIP arbitration experience, particularly with strong proficiency in applying the NJ PIP Fee Schedule ("fee scheduling" cases). The ability to analyze and fee schedule matters accurately is critical, as this skillset translates directly into the broader responsibilities of the role.

This role is ideal for a PIP attorney who wants:

  • A stable in-house caseload
  • Less administrative burden (strong paralegal support)
  • Exposure to Workers' Compensation and commercial IDR arbitrations
  • A clear path to becoming a key contributor in a growing niche practice

Responsibilities:

NJ PIP/No-Fault Arbitration

  • Manage full caseload from initial filing through arbitration
  • Draft and submit appeals
  • Conduct settlement negotiations
  • Appear for remote arbitration hearings
  • Collaborate with paralegals for filing and administrative support

NJ Workers' Compensation (Medical Provider Claims)

  • File matters via NJ eCourts WC Portal (CourtsOnline)
  • Appear for virtual hearings
  • Review adversary submissions
  • Evaluate claims and make settlement offers
  • Work with paralegals on appellate matters

NJ Commercial Arbitrations (Surprise Bill IDRs)

  • Analyze and "fee schedule" cases
  • Prepare and submit arbitration briefs (largely templated)
  • Coordinate with paralegal staff for filings and appeals

NY Commercial Arbitrations (Surprise Bill IDRs)

  • Draft arbitration briefs
  • Assemble UCR (Usual, Customary, Reasonable) evidence
  • Create fee schedule comparison charts
  • Communicate with clients for case input as needed
  • Collaborate with paralegals for filing and appeals

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • NJ bar, active and in good standing (required); NY bar (preferred)
  • 2+ years of NJ PIP arbitration experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the NJ PIP Fee Schedule
  • Experience handling arbitration hearings and settlement negotiations
  • Work onsite Monday-Friday in our Fairlawn office

Salary Range: $150,000-180,000 / year, commensurate with experience

Benefits:

  • 100% employer paid Medical Insurance, starting day 1
  • 100% employer paid Dental and Vision Insurance, starting within 30 days
  • 401(k) with Employer Safe Harbor Contributions
  • Profit Sharing
  • Cash Balance Plan (similar to pension)
  • Competitive PTO & Paid Holidays
  • Friendly, team-focused culture where your work matters
