Position Summary

The commercial Cleaner / Day Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the shopping center’s common areas, sidewalks, parking lots, landscaped areas, and service areas. This position works independently while assisting management with identifying maintenance and safety concerns throughout the property. The work schedule is three hours per day, four days per week. Must have reliable transportation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Exterior Cleaning & Grounds

• Pick up trash and debris throughout parking lots and landscaped areas
• Empty sidewalk trash cans and replace liners
• Blow sidewalks, curbs, and storefront walkways as needed
• Maintain the cleanliness of dumpster enclosures and rear service drives
• Keep common areas neat and presentable for tenants and customers

Day Porter Responsibilities

• Conduct routine property walkthroughs and inspections
• Provide management with photos and reports of maintenance concerns
• Apply ice melt to walkways during winter weather as needed
• Monitor for loitering or trespassing and notify management or authorities as needed
• Inspect lighting and report outages
• Inspect and clean fire riser rooms monthly or as needed
• Identify minor repair needs and maintenance concerns
• Assist with light handyman work as assigned
• Provide repair recommendations and observations to management
