Summary:
Coordinates and directs activities of workers engaged in molding or assembly of parts or assemblies into units by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following:
- Coordinates, directs, evaluates and provides training and leadership to twenty or more hourly employees for the assembly and/or molding operations.
- Develops daily schedules, ensures that quality and production goals are met, and troubleshoots problems as required.
- Provides technical leadership for department, including recommending and implementing equipment, process and material enhancements.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow including design layouts for equipment and workspace.
- Ensures all ISO procedures are followed, integrity of product to standard, process improvement recommendations: SPC, and other quality systems developed and maintained.
- Ensures employees complete safety training, establishes safe work environment, and leads department safety team.
- Maintains constructive working relationship with business units, customers, and internal departments including effective communication, coordination of WIP and process improvement.
- Researches and makes recommendations on production and auxiliary equipment procurement, and identifies new technologies and expansion plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma, plus one to two years related manufacturing experience and/or training. Associates degree (A. A.) from an accredited college or university is preferred.
