Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Site Walker in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal at a renowned cultural institution, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service to guests and staff. In this unarmed patrol role, you will support a welcoming location through clear communication, teamwork, and a caring, reliable approach grounded in integrity and innovation.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution location.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing information with site leadership and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, public spaces, staff areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, assist with visitor entry procedures, and support orderly movement of guests, staff, and/or deliveries in accordance with site protocols.
• Report maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations, and provide clear communication during routine operations, special events, and after-hours coverage.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
