Our clients span the automotive, aerospace, and general manufacturing sectors.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Controls Engineer with a background in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics engineering. This hands-on role involves installing, troubleshooting, and servicing automation control systems at client sites. The ideal candidate will have experience in PLC programming, industrial robotics (especially KUKA and Comau), and CNC machine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain automation control systems and equipment at client sites.

  • Program and debug PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff) to meet customer-specific automation needs.

  • Develop, modify, and optimize robot programs for KUKA and Comau robotic systems.

  • Diagnose and service CNC machinery, including electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues.

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to clients, ensuring rapid resolution of issues to minimize downtime.

  • Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and client teams to implement and optimize automation solutions.

  • Document service activities, prepare reports, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies in industrial automation and controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in automation controls, PLC programming, and robotics integration.

  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLCs (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000).

  • Strong experience with industrial robotics (KUKA KRL, Comau C5G/C5G Plus systems).

  • Experience in servicing and maintaining CNC machines (Fanuc, Siemens, or Heidenhain controls preferred).

  • Solid understanding of electrical schematics, mechanical systems, and control panel wiring.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to client sites (domestic and/or international).

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-focused approach.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with fieldbus systems (Profinet, EtherCAT, CANopen).

  • Experience with safety PLCs and industrial safety systems.

  • Knowledge of HMI programming and SCADA systems.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple service tasks simultaneously.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on experience.

  • Travel allowances, per diem, and overtime pay.

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • 401(k) or retirement plan options.
