Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
Join our team as a Mechanical Assembler, where you will be instrumental in the Sub Assembly or General Assembly of window units. You will gain hands-on experience using hand and power tools to add various components such as metal brackets, fasteners, and hardware. Your role will also involve quality assurance testing on caulking products, painting materials, working with insulation, and ensuring the integrity of the assembled units.
Responsibilities
- Assemble window units using hand and power tools.
- Add fasteners, clips, and other hardware to window units.
- Perform caulking product testing to ensure proper sealing of windows.
- Paint the ends of materials and work with non-irritant insulation.
- Wrap and net final units, inspecting for any flaws in assembly.
- Handle large pieces of glass and sheet metal with precision.
- Assist in Sub Assembly during downtime and support material testing outdoors.
- Meet daily production goals and maintain flexibility to work in various areas.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience in a mechanical role.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using hand and power tools.
- Experience with fabrication, fitting, construction, and installation.
- Strong quality control and troubleshooting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Computer skills are a plus.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Positive attitude and strong listening skills.

Work Environment
Work in a non-climate-controlled, busy manufacturing facility with large glass and sheet metal assemblies. The team environment requires handling both indoor and outdoor tasks. Standard shifts run from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with potential overtime during the week and on Saturdays if production lines require it. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
