Position Overview
We are seeking PRN (as-needed) Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide coverage and support across community-based programs in the Baltimore and Howard County areas.
This role is ideal for individuals who are flexible and enjoy working with a variety of people. PRN DSPs fill in for call-outs, vacations, and staffing gaps while supporting adults with developmental disabilities in both home and community settings.
Schedule (PRN)
• This is a fully flexible, as-needed position
• Shifts are offered based on program needs across assigned service areas
• Opportunities may include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
• PRN staff may accept or decline shifts based on availability
• Consistent availability and responsiveness are strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct care and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities
• Support daily living skills (hygiene, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, mobility, etc.)
• Assist with community integration (appointments, outings, social activities)
• Implement Individual Plans and behavior support strategies
• Promote independence and person-centered outcomes
• Ensure safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all individuals supported
• Administer medications per MAR/PMOF (if certified)
• Transport individuals to appointments and activities
• Maintain accurate documentation (daily notes, incident reports, data tracking)
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive home environment
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, nurses, and team members
Professional Expectations
• Demonstrate flexibility in work locations and assignments
• Maintain professionalism and engagement during all shifts
• No personal business (cell phone use, etc.) during active support time
• Work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners
• Follow all agency policies and procedures
• Maintain reliability to remain active PRN staff
Secondary Responsibilities
• Attend trainings and team meetings as required
• Support agency initiatives and program needs as assigned
Requirements
Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Human Services (required)
• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Additional Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation (travel between locations required)
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 50+ pounds
• Ability to adapt to different homes, individuals, and support needs
