MATERIAL HANDLER – MEDICAL DEVICE MANUFACTURING

Job Type:Contract

Pay Rate: $19.00/hour

Shift: 1st Shift – Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Location: Warehouse –San Diego, CA 92121

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support manufacturing operations in a regulated medical device environment. This position focuses on inbound receiving, inventory management, material staging, and delivery of materials to production.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in temperature-controlled environments and willing to train on and operate various powered industrial equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, inspect, count, stage, store, and distribute incoming materials and supplies.
  • Pull, stage, verify, and compare inventory against system-generated pick lists, sales orders, and purchase orders.
  • Deliver raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and production materials to appropriate areas.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Complete accurate inventory and material transactions using computer systems and scanning equipment.
  • Receive packages, including FedEx and UPS shipments, and distribute materials throughout the facility.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and quality records.
  • Operate manual and motorized pallet jacks, forklifts, electric carts, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Work safely in refrigerated, frozen, and deep-freeze temperature-controlled areas.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage and work areas.
  • Follow all SOPs, GMP requirements, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Communicate professionally with Planning, Production, Shipping, Receiving, Quality, and other departments.
  • Lift, move, and carry products weighing up to 40 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • No minimum years of experience required.
  • Warehouse, material handling, receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Medical device or manufacturing warehouse experience is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP and inventory systems.
  • MS Office proficiency preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Reliable, professional, and coachable.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working in multiple temperature-controlled environments.
  • Willingness to train on and operate multiple types of powered industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work around elevated racking and use required safety harnesses when operating applicable equipment.
  • Ability to follow detailed SOPs and work effectively in an audit-driven environment.
  • Forklift or PIT experience.
  • Inventory management and inbound receiving.
  • ERP experience; Oracle experience preferred.
  • Experience with mobile scanning devices.
  • Medical device or diagnostics warehouse experience.
  • Experience working with temperature-sensitive materials.
  • Manufacturing-support warehouse experience.
