The Building and Grounds Worker will be responsible for monitoring the overall condition of the Marina. He/She will have to be diverse enough to handle everything from the smallest cleaning jobs to a large emergency. It will be his/her job to coordinate with their direct supervisor to identify and facilitate repairs, and to keep the Marina buildings and grounds clean.
DUTIES may include but are not limited to:
1) Responsible for the cleanliness of the entire facility. Major priority areas to be kept clean are:
a) Restrooms, public and staff;
b) Laundry room;
c) Showers;
d) Office, Ship's Store and other building areas used by public & employees;
e) Trash receptacles are emptied before they are full;
f) Litter pick-up from docks, water surface, parking lots, roads and other.
2) Facility and dock maintenance. (Carpentry, float, gin pole placement, electrical repairs, etc)
3) Any other duties as assigned by supervisor, for example:
a) Haul out—wash boat bottoms and assist with shrink wrap;
b) Launch — remove shrink wrap and put up canvas;
c) Snow removal
Requirements:
Must have a general knowledge of cleaning practices, painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, lawn care, and facility maintenance.
Must be willing to shift from one task to another and back to handle emergencies and customer issues.
Must have your own tools. Must be able to demonstrate that you can safely use power tools and equipment.
Heavy lifting, working in high places, and working on floating docks may be required daily.
