Responsibilities of the Paralegal - Trust & Estates:
- Draft and prepare comprehensive estate planning instruments, including Wills, Revocable/Irrevocable Trusts, Deeds, and Powers of Attorney for final attorney review.
- Facilitate in-depth client intake sessions, meticulously gathering financial records and case data with a high degree of empathy and professionalism.
- Organize and oversee complex case files while maintaining rigorous calendar management and tracking all statutory deadlines.
- Manage incoming inquiries, routing communications effectively and liaising with probate courts, banking institutions, and financial advisors.
- Ensure all records remain current, accurate, and organized within the firm’s case management software.
- Coordinate the transfer of assets and provide foundational support for the preparation of estate and gift tax returns.
- Maintain strict adherence to internal firm protocols, court filing requirements, and professional communication standards.
Qualifications of the Paralegal - Trust & Estates:
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of specialized experience as a Trust & Estates Paralegal.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in legal practice management platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Precision: Exceptional attention to detail with a proven track record of managing intricate legal documentation.
- Discretion: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, confidential client information with the utmost integrity.
- Communication: Superior written and verbal skills for professional interaction with clients, counsel, and court officials.
- Execution: A highly organized, self-starting professional who can balance multiple priorities in a deadline-sensitive environment.
